Bryant's Puron Gains Momentum In New Millennium

INDIANAPOLIS, April. 25, 2005 – With the discontinuation of
products using R22 refrigerant only five years away, Bryant
Heating and Cooling Systems, one of the HVAC/R industry’s leaders
in home comfort solutions, is taking the lead on educating its
dealers and their consumers about its PuronTM products, which
serve as an environmentally sound replacement for R22.
In 1987, the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the
Ozone Layer revealed that R22 refrigerant was harmful to the
environment. Following this finding, in 1990, the U.S. Legislature
passed the Clean Air Act, which required all heating, ventilation,
air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) manufacturers to
discontinue production of products using the R22 refrigerant by
2010. The only exception made for the production of R22 was for
replacement use in existing units.
In the eight years since Bryant introduced its Puron products,
installations have grown from 5,000 units to over 300,000 units.
This number is expected to grow as the 2010 date approaches.
“When we found that R22 was harmful to the environment we
immediately assigned our research and development folks the task
of finding an environmentally friendly replacement for R22 that
could be used with all of our future heating ventilation and air
conditioning products,” said John Gibbons, vice president of
national accounts. “But, finding a replacement was not enough. We
were going to do whatever it took to incorporate this new gas into
our products in a way that made them energy efficient, reliable
and affordable to our customers.”
Today, Bryant dealers have the broadest and strongest Puron
product line in the industry including a full line of air
conditioners (eight families) ranging from 12 to 16.5 in the
seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER). The company also has five
families of heat pumps, eight families of small package units and
a full family of Puron fan and furnace coils.
For the past century, Bryant has offered the industry’s most
complete line of heating and cooling system components, all
designed to work together to provide reliable home comfort and
energy savings. Today, Bryant is proud to offer a full line of
comfort equipment and best-in-class network of dedicated
distributors and dealers.

Bryant Heating and
Cooling Celebrates 100 Years of Reliable Comfort
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 18, 2004 – Today, Bryant Heating
and Cooling Systems, one of the HVAC industry’s leaders in
providing home comfort solutions, continued its 100 Year
Anniversary celebration as more than 2,500 dealers and
distributors converged in Las Vegas for the largest dealer
meeting in company history.
Founded in 1904 by Charles Bryant as the National Gas
Regulator Company, Bryant has made its mark on history.
From the first Silica Gel Dehumidifier in 1930, to the
Dualator, the first all-in one dual air heating and
cooling unit, in 1937, Bryant has been on the forefront of
innovation in the HVAC industry. This tradition has
continued with the 1996 unveiling of Puron®; the 1997
introduction of the 90i Plus and the company’s most recent
innovation, the Evolution System. Bryant consistently does
“Whatever it Takes” for its dealers and customers.
“Bryant takes pride in being a pioneer in the HVAC
industry, and we are dedicated to investing in new ways to
continue our rich tradition. We hope that this dealer
meeting will mark the beginning of what will be another
successful 100 years in our history,” says Halsey Cook,
president of Bryant.
According to Cook, kicking off Bryant’s 100 Year
Anniversary celebration activities at the dealer meeting
is a great way to give dealers a more thorough
understanding of Bryant’s brand positioning and history,
as well as the latest product news and strategic sales and
promotion insights.
To continue excitement throughout the year, Bryant is
working with its local distributor network to tie its
national efforts and promotions to local market
activities. In addition, Bryant has created a signature
line of 100 Year Anniversary merchandise ranging from
coffee table books to T-shirts and hats for its dealers.
The company is also working to create additional
cost savings promotions, innovative advertising and
valuable marketing techniques to mark this century
celebration.
